The Ashok Gehlot-led Rajasthan government has ordered the imposition of a weekend curfew in the state in the wake of rising Covid cases.
A weekend curfew will be in effect in the state from 11 pm on Saturday night till 5 am on Monday morning. The weekend curfew will be enforced from January 11 onwards.
The state government has also ordered the immediate closure of offline school activities for children in classes 1 to 12 till January 30.
As per the order issued by Rajasthan government's Home Department, the following have also been directed, with effect from
January 11 onwards:
. College/university students can attend offline classes at full capacity if the Covid protocol can be followed, or else by ensuring that classes are conducted with 50 per cent attendance on a rotational basis.
. Shops and commercial establishments have been asked to shut down by 8 pm unless they fall under an exception.
. A maximum of fifty people are allowed to attend marriage ceremonies in nagar palikas and nagar nigams till January 30.
. The number of people allowed to participate in cremation rituals has been limited to 20.
