In Rajasthan, severe cold is prevailing in most parts of the state, while some districts are in the grip of cold waves. Normal life has also been affected due to the freezing cold and fog. Today, the night temperature in Sikar, Churu, Jhunjhunu and Karauli districts reached near the freezing point. Dense fog was also recorded at isolated places in Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Bikaner and Churu districts.
The lowest temperature of this season has been recorded at many places in the last 24 hours. The minimum temperature was recorded as minus
1.5 degrees celsius in Fatehpur of Sikar district.
While Churu recorded Zero degree Celsius. The Night temperature was recorded below 5 degrees celsius at Bhilwara, Alwar, Chittorgarh, Bikaner, Sriganganagar, Dhaulpur, Nagaur, Baran and Sirohi.
The Met Department has issued an orange alert for dense fog and severe cold waves in Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh and Churu for the next 24 hours. Apart from this, a cold wave alert has also been issued in nine other districts.
