Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has written letters to the Chief Ministers of Nagaland and Manipur to ensure that National Highway-2 remains open and both the State governments take necessary step in this regard. He also expressed unhappiness that despite the Centre's full assistance to the Manipur Government, the situation is not improving fast.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Home Kirren Rijiju left for Imphal this morning with senior Home Ministry officials to review the
situation with the Manipur Government. Earlier yesterday, a BJP delegation met Rajnath Singh and sought the Centre's intervention to end the blockade in Manipur.
Talking to reporters after the meeting, Union Minister and party state election in-charge, Prakash Javadekar alleged that Manipur government has failed to protect the interests of the people. He said, despite the central government having provided additional forces, still the Chief Minister has not taken any action.
