Home Minister Rajnath Singh has directed to provide all necessary support including vehicles, assault weapons on priority basis to the troops of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) deployed in Jammu and Kashmir. Mr Singh said, this while reviewing the work and activities of Sashastra (SSB) in New Delhi as a part of ongoing review of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).
An official release said, Mr Singh discussed the recent attack by militants on SSB troops in Jakura, Srinagar in Kashmir and appreciated the retaliatory efforts made by



SSB jawans. He also appreciated the works and activities of SSB in the Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected areas and in Jammu and Kashmir. 
The Home Minister said, a contingent of SSB will soon be deployed in United Nations Peacekeeping Operations. Mr Singh also discussed the security arrangements on Indo-Nepal Border and stressed that intensive vigil should be maintained on the border as terrorists may take advantage of the porous border. Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju was also present at the meeting.
