Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday inaugurated the 41st Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Commanders' Conference in New Delhi. The three-day event will see senior ICG commanders discussing strategic, operational, and administrative issues amid rising geopolitical and maritime security challenges.
Following the inauguration, Singh engaged in discussions on national and maritime security matters with senior ICG officials, including Additional Director General S Paramesh.
During the conference, ICG commanders will also meet
with the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of the Naval Staff, and the Engineer-in-Chief to strengthen collaboration in maritime security.
The conference focusses on advancing the growth and infrastructure development of the ICG.
Throughout the event, senior ICG commanders will review past initiatives related to operations, logistics, human resources, and training, while planning future steps to protect India's maritime interests. The conference underscores the ICG's commitment to safeguarding the nation’s maritime frontiers.
