The first commercial run of Lucknow metro rail starts today. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and governer Ram Naik will flag off the maiden run of first phase of Lucknow Metro today at 11 am.
Dream of traveling in metro train is going to be fulfilled today for people of lucknow. For general public services of five metro trains will be available from tomorrow morning. The four-coach trains will have a capacity to accommodate nearly 1,100 passengers at a time, with a seating capacity for 200 people.
The coaches have been equipped with LED lights and CCTV cameras.
The 8.5-km-long 'Priority Corridor' from Transport Nagar to Charbagh, which is part of the Phase 1 of the project, and has 8 stations in between will be operational for the public from 6 am to 10 pm everyday. Cost of this phase is around 2600 crores and it took almost 3 years to complete. People of the city are so excited to travel in metro that after sell of smart cards started by LMRC last Friday more than 3000 had already purchased them.
