Tamil matinee idol Rajnikanth has announced that his outfit, “Rajini Makkal Mantram,” will not contest the forthcoming Parliament General Elections.
He has said in a statement issued in the fan club’s letter pad, he will not support any party in the election either. He has clarified that his focus is not the impending Lok Sabha polls, but the state Assembly elections. He has
also asked not to use his name or that of his unit by anyone during the campaign. He has asked his fans to vote for those who they think can help the state alleviate water problems.
The 68-year old cine actor has not yet registered his party, though he hinted recently that he would take a plunge into politics.
