Rajya Sabha was adjourned till noon today on the issue of National Register of Citizens. Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Mr Anand Sharma of Congress sought an apology from Mr Amit Shah of BJP saying that he defamed former Prime Ministers since Rajiv Gandhi for not having the courage to implement the Assam Accord.
Reacting to the allegations, Chairman M Venkaiah
Naidu said he will go through the record and appealed to the members to allow the House to function.
Mr.Naidu then asked Amit Shah of BJP to speak on the National Register of Citizens. Mr Anand Sharma along with his party members continued to demand an apology from the ruling benches. The House was then adjourned till noon.
