Bharatiya Kisan union (BKU) national spokesperson Rakesh Tikait has extended support to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi’s (TRS) protest in New Delhi on Monday and said he will participate in the demonstration demanding that the Central government procure paddy produced in Telangana.

He also pitched for the uniform procurement policy that is being demanded by the TRS. Appreciating the Telangana government’s Rythu Bandhu scheme, Rakesh Tikait said it was an ideal scheme that needs to be replicated across the country.

Like Telangana Government, 24 hours power supply should also be extended to the farming community in all the States across the country, he

said.

Due to the Central government’s anti-farmer’s policies, the farming community was facing lot of inconvenience. The Centre should announce Minimum Support Price for all the agriculture produce across the country, he said.

“We will extend all support to any initiative taken up by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s for the welfare of the farming community,” Rakesh Tikait said.

Reminding that the Centre had repealed the three farm laws after the farmers’ agitation, the BKU national spokesperson demanded that the Centre announce Rs.25 lakh ex-gratia to the kin of famers’ who died during the agitation.
