Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan has urged the States and Union Territories to fully implement One Nation One Ration Card scheme without any delay.
Interacting with media through video conference, Mr Paswan said, a total of 24 States and UTs are connected under this scheme.
He said about 65 crores of total National Food Security Act, NFSA population is now potentially enabled for receiving food grains anywhere in these States
and UTs through national portability of ration cards. Mr Paswan hoped that remaining States and Union Territories will be integrated in national portability by March 2021.
The Minister said, a total of over 750 lakh tonnes of food grain stock is available with Food Corporation of India. He said since lockdown, about 140 lakh tonnes of food grains have been lifted and transported through four thousand 999 rail rakes.
