Ranveer Singh replaced Arjun Kapoor to play Kapil Dev in 83? Details inside

Ranveer Singh will be soon seen in the film which is based on the life of Kapil Dev. The film is directed by Kabir Khan and has got all cricket enthusiasts excited for its release. 

According to recent reports earlier it was reported that the lead would be played by Arjun Kapoor in the film. According to a report by Pinkvilla earlier, Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan was to direct the film and he had first approached Arjun Kapoor to play Kapil Dev in



83. 

The report further added that Arjun had instantly given a nod to the movie and duo wanted Phantom films to produce it, which led to a successful meeting but were soon replaced by Ranveer Singh and Kabir Khan. A source told the publication, " Arjun took Sanjay and the film to Phantom Films to produce the film for them. But later they found out from the media that they were replaced by Kabir Khan and Ranveer Singh." 

Talking about the film, Ranveer had told Hindustan Times that it is one of the greatest sports stories about how a bunch of underdogs who were banded together were galvanized by their leader and thus, they won the world cup for the country.
