Record 5 lakhs saplings planted in an hour

Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav yesterday congratulated 128 Infantry Battalion and Ecological Task Force of Territorial Army  for registering a World Record of planting over 5 lakh saplings in one hour. 

In a social media post, Mr Yadav said that the forces planted around 5 lakh 20 thousand saplings yesterday under Special Plantation Drive at Jaisalmer. He said that this initiative was under the Prime



Minister’s campaign Ek Ped Maa ke Naam and the territorial army outreach program Bhagidari and Zimmedari, aimed to enhance ecological restoration and promote environmental awareness among the local communities. 

Mr. Yadav also congratulated multiple stakeholders including the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Border Security Force, Police and students from various educational institutions.
