In Uttarakhand, the relief and rescue operation for workers trapped in the under-construction Silkyara Tunnel in Uttarkashi district continues for the fifth day yesterday. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is continuously monitoring the relief and rescue operation. Speaking to reporters in Dehradun on Thursday, Mr. Dhami said that despite the difficult circumstances, the rescue operation will be completed as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Road, Transport and Highways General V.K. Singh

reached the incident site and inspected the relief and rescue operations. He said that the government will make every possible effort to rescue the workers safely.

He talked to the families of the workers trapped in the under-construction tunnel and said that all the workers will be taken out safely soon. It may be recalled that on November 12, due to a landslide in the under-construction Silkyara Tunnel, forty workers got trapped inside the tunnel.
