In Gujarat, the situation in the flood-affected areas is slowly improving. According to official sources, more than 20 thousand people shifted to safer places have returned back to their homes. However, about 7 thousand people are still taking shelter due to the flood waters.

State Revenue Minister Rajendra Trivedi has said that the state administration is on high alert following forecasts of more rainfall in Saurashtra and South Gujarat. The government is providing food and medicines to the people shifted to safer places.  At least 575 persons have been

rescued in the different areas of the state.

Relief works have been geared up by the district administrations with the help of NDRF and SDRF in the flood-affected Navsari, Valsad, and Chhota Udepur districts. The state government has announced cash compensation for the people affected by the floods. The survey begins to ascertain the damage to the houses and other properties. Electricity has been restored in 769 affected villages. The state transport buses also started running in all affected areas.
