Renaming of Mhow railway station after B R Ambedkar in MP

The central government has given its nod for renaming Mhow railway station in Indore district of Madhya Pradesh after BR Ambedkar as the Dalit icon was born there. Union Home Ministry has requested the Madhya Pradesh government to issue a Gazette notification in this



regard. 

Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thawar Chand Gehlot had written to Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu last year and in January this year,demanding that the name of Mhow railway station be changed to BR Ambedkar railway station.
