Relief and rescue operations continue on a war footing to safely rescue 41 workers trapped inside the collapsed Silkyara Tunnel in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. Director of National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited, Manish Khalkho said that a six-inch pipe has been extended 53 meters inside the tunnel, so that food, medicines and other essential items can be easily delivered to the workers trapped inside.

Arnold Dix said that the rescue team is doing a lot of work for the safety of trapped workers. He also underlined that enormous amount of work has been done in preparation before the execution of plan.
It may be recalled that the administration is in contact with the workers trapped in the under-construction tunnel and all the people are said to be safe. These workers have been trapped in the sunken part of the tunnel since the 12th of this month.
