Vijayawada: There will be traffic diversions from January 3 to January 7 in Vijayawada in view of the Bhavani Deeksha relinquishment programme.
In a press release on Tuesday, NTR district police commissioner Kanthi Rana Tata said traffic restrictions will be in force until January 7 night.
There will be eight parking places, such as irrigation site, Gandhiji Municipal High School, Lotus Land Apartment, Punnami Ghat, Bhavani Ghat, Old Soma Company (Sitara), BRTS Road and Gymkhana grounds.
All vehicles from Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam and Visakhapatnam to Hyderabad will be diverted at Ibrahimpatnam and Hanuman Junction respectively. All these vehicles will pass via G. Konduru, Mylavaram and Nuzvid and vice versa.
Movements of vehicles from Visakhapatnam to Chennai and Chennai to Visakhapatnam will be diverted at Hanuman Junction and Ongole respectively. These vehicles will pass via Gudivada, Pamarru, Avanigadda, Repalle, Bapatla, Chirala, Trovagunta and Ongole and vice versa.
Similarly, heavy vehicle traffic between Guntur and Visakhapatnam will be diverted at Budampadu and Hanuman Junction respectively and will pass via Tenali, Vemuru, Kolluru, Vellaturu Junction, Penumudi Bridge,
Avanigadda, Pamarru, Gudivada and Hanuman Junction.
Traffic from Chennai to Hyderabad and Hyderabad to Chennai will be diverted at Medarametla and Narkatpalli respectively. Vehicles will be passing via Medarametla, Addanki, Piduguralla, Nadikudi, Miryalaguda, Nalgonda, and Narkatpalli.
Police said RTC bus traffic from Vijayawada to Hyderabad via Jaggaiahpet and Tiruvuru will be also diverted. All RTC bus services coming from Hyderabad to Vijayawada should take a diversion at the Gollapudi Y Junction and pass via Swathi Junction, Kanaka Durga Flyover, and Rajiv Gandhi Park and enter the PNBS.
Likewise, city bus services from Ibrahimpatnam to PNBS and vice versa will take a diversion at the Gollapudi Y Junction and pass via Swathi Junction, Kanaka Durga Flyover, and Rajiv Gandhi Park and enter into the PNBS. City buses towards Bhavanipuram will pass via Kanaka Durga Flyover or Chittinagar Tunnel
City police have made it clear that no vehicle will be allowed between Kummaripalem to Ghat Road, and between Tadepalli to Vijayawada and vice versa on the Prakasam Barrage. Andhra Pradesh High Court and Secretariat employees should go via Kanakadurga Varadhi, police added.
