Hyderabad: IT Minister KT Rama Rao brushed aside reports that roads in the city were being decked up for the visit of Ivanka Trump. The city, he said, was hosting several national and international events and not just the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES).

“We have the 10k on November 26. Then we have the GES. Everybody is thinking that we are laying the roads only for Ivanka Trump. That’s not true. It was a part of our normal work. We start the work after monsoons. We also have our citizens to take care of. Yes, of course, when we have visitors coming to Hyderabad we normally tend to put up our best. After GES, our CM has announced a World Telugu Conference

here on a grand scale from December 15 to 19.

That is going to be another gala. In January we are going to have Indian Science Congress and in February, we have World Congress IT happening. We have India Nasscom happening here in the city.”

So we are having high-profile events – national and global – coming up in the city. I am truly delighted that the city is becoming a very happening destination. We continue to grow and our economy continues to grow. We were also recognised as the fastest growing economy at the India Today conclave. We are also recognised for our efforts on environment and cleanliness,” he pointed out.
