Row over Team India's orange jersey: Congress accuses Modi of encouraging saffron politics

Politics over Indian Cricket team’s orange jersey is on its way and will stay till 30th June. One of the Samajwadi Party leader also joined in with Congress saying India should wear a tri colour jersey and that Modi wants to paint the country saffron.

Congress party along with SP have taken an objection on the orange colour jersey that Team India will be wearing on the 30th of June while playing against England. India, who are sporting a blue kit for the World Cup, will



turn out in a different attire for the game against England.

"For televised ICC events all participating teams will be required to provide for two different coloured kits, except for the host country who has a preference in the choice of colour and may, if it chooses to do so, provide only one coloured kit to be worn in all matches throughout the event. In advance of the event the teams will be notified which coloured kit will be worn in each match," the ICC had said in a release.
