Rs 1000 aid for women family heads soon: Tamil Nadu Finance Minister

Tamil Nadu Finance Minister PTR Palanivel Thiagarajan has said the state government will soon begin to give monthly financial support of one thousand rupees for women heads of families.

Talking to reporters in Madurai yesterday, Mr Thiagarajan said the



government is compiling data on the eligible women for the scheme.

The assurance on the monthly assistance was made in the election manifesto of the ruling DMK party during the state election a year ago.
