Pradyuman Thakur's father Barun Chandra Thakur on Wednesday moved the Juvenile Justice Board, seeking the trial of the juvenile, apprehended in the Ryan school murder case, as an adult.

Moving an application through counsel Sushil Tekriwal and others, Mr. Thakur argued that it was a cold-blooded murder and rarest in nature. The manner in which the throat of the seven-year-old was cut was chilling and horrific. He also argued that the post mortem report indicated the serious nature of the

injuries.

In the light of these facts, Mr. Thakur, in his application, demanded that the juvenile — who is above 16 years of age — be tried as an adult as per the mandate and spirit of the amended Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.

The matter will come up for hearing on November 22, said Mr. Tekriwal.

The juvenile in conflict with law will also be produced before the Board that day after his judicial custody ends. He is lodged in an observation home in Faridabad.
