Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda chaired a meeting with stakeholders of the fertiliser sector through video conferencing yesterday.
He said that the government is committed to improve efficiency of the fertiliser units as well as to address the issue of imbalance in the use of fertilisers in the country.
The meeting was attended by Secretary- Fertilisers, Secretary-Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, senior officials of NITI
Aayog, members of Fertiliser Association of India and other senior officials.
During the meeting, the participants shared their views on various aspects of challenges faced by the sector.
The Chemicals and Fertilizers ministry has said that it is considering further necessary reforms in the fertiliser sector in order to achieve Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of doubling farmers’ income.
