Saras Food Festival is underway at Baba Kharak Singh Marg, Connaught Place in New Delhi. This event is being organized by the Ministry of Rural Development till the 17th of December. As per the ministry, this festival is a unique example of women’s empowerment and the aim of this festival is to showcase the diversity of Indian culture and food.
In this Festival, more than 300 dishes are being presented across 30 stalls from 25 states of the country. Visitors are coming with their families experiencing Indian culture and flavors. At the festival, Visitors have been tasting famous dishes of different states like Dal Baati Churma from Rajasthan, Hilsa from Bengal, Telangana-Hyderabad Dum Biryani, Odisha’s- Mughlai Chicken and Ras Malai, Litti Chokha from Bihar, Dhokla, Dal from Gujarat, Sarson Ka Saag and Makki
Ki Roti from Punjab, Kadhi Rice from Haryana and many other delicious dishes.
This festival is a great example of women’s empowerment, as nearly 150 women entrepreneurs and women from self-help groups from all over the country are participating in it. These women hold expertise in making traditional dishes. In an exclusive conversation with Akashvani Uttarakhand’s Pooja Tomar said Saras food festival providing a platform to showcase thier delicious cusines.
Another Exhibitor from Maharashtra has expressed happiness after visiting delhi for the first time and said that this event helps women grow.
Entry to Saras Food Festival is free and the festival will run from 11 am to 10 pm
