Sarpanch shot dead by terrorists in Baramulla,J&K

In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, a Sarpanch was shot dead by terrorists in Pattan area of north Kashmir's Baramulla district last evening.

Giving details, the official sources said that the terrorists opened fire on Sarpanch identified as Manzoor Ahmad Bangroo in Goshbugh area of Pattan resulting into his death.

Baramulla District Senior Superintendent of Police Rayees Ahmad said that the Sarpanch was not associated with any party and was an independent candidate. The security



forces have cordoned off the area and have launched a massive manhunt to nab the assailants.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has strongly condemned the terror attack on Sarpanch, Manzoor Ahmad Bangroo. 

In a condolence message, the Lieutenant Governor has expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family in this hour of grief and maintained that perpetrators of this despicable act shall be punished very soon.
