Ranjeet Savarkar, the grandson of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, has demanded an immediate ban on the booklet which claims that the veteran Hindutva leader had a homosexual relationship with Mahatma Gandhi's assassin Nathuram Godse.

The booklet is being distributed by Congress Seva Dal, during training sessions, in Bhopal.

Expressing his outrage on the contents of the book, Ranjeet Savarkar said that the booklet must be banned. "Immediately, the book on Savarkar in Madhya Pradesh should be banned. A case should be registered under section 120, 500, 503, 504, 505 and 506," Ranjeet said.

Ranjeet Savarkar, who serves as the chairman of Swatantryaveer Savarkar Rashtriya Smarak, said that he will meet Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhv Thackeray at his office on Friday to ask him immediately look into the matter and take action. "Immediate inquiry should be initiated in the matter and criminal case should be filed."

Ranjeet Savarkar claimed that the Congress was distributing the booklets as part of a larger conspiracy against

Savarkar. "Congress has always tried to defame Savarkar. Now it is high time that action is taken against Congress for defaming Savarkar. This is not the first time Congress has attacked Savarkar," he told reporters.

Earlier, Ranjeet Savarkar had asked that Shiv Sena should remove Congress from the alliance in Maharashtra and form a government with Maharashtra, stating Uddhav Thackeray and Shiv Sena are followers of Savarkar and they should not be with someone who every time insults Savarkar.

The booklet, named 'How brave was Veer Savarkar', was allegedly distributed in an All India Congress Seva Dal training camp run by the Congress in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. It mentions and talks about several incidents, questions and controversies surrounding Savarkar.

Referring to an incident mentioned in Dominique Lapierre and Larry Collins's 'Freedom at Midnight', the Congress booklet said, "Before adopting brahmacharya, there is only one mention of Nathuram Godse's physical relationship. His [Godse] partner in his homosexual relationship was Veer Savarkar."
