Vijayawada: The Supreme Court of India has dismissed two petitions filed by YSRC leader Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, which sought an investigation against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in the alleged cash-for-vote scam. A division bench comprising Justices M.M. Sundresh and Aravind Kumar heard the petitions in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The petitions aimed to include Naidu as an accused in the cash-for-vote scam case, transfer the
investigation to the CBI, and challenge the AP High Court's order issued on 9th December 2016. Previously, Naidu had challenged a private complaint filed by Ramakrishna Reddy before the High Court, which resulted in the special judge directing the ACB, Telangana, to conduct a thorough inquiry and file a report on the allegations of bribery to secure votes in favour of the TDP nominee in the Legislative Council polls held in 2015.
