Supreme Court will hear today the petition filed by Congress JD(S) combine, challenging the government formation by the BJP in Karnataka. 

The Apex court had yesterday, in early morning hearing, refused to stay the swearing-in of BS Yeddyurappa as Chief Minister.

A 3-judge bench, headed by justice AK Sikri said, swearing-in and government formation will be subject to the outcome of



the petition before it. The apex court said, today it will also hear other respondents like BJP. 

The court issued notice to respondents including the BJP and asked them to file their replies. 

The court directed that letter sent by BJP to the Governor staking claim to form the government also be placed before it.
