SC to hear pleas on deportation of Rohingyas to Myanmar on Jan 31

The Supreme Court will hear on the 31st of next month a batch of pleas on deportation of Rohingyas to Myanmar.The apex court yesterday said, it would also hear on the next date the interim applications seeking to be impleaded as parties in the case. 

Two Rohingya immigrants had approached the court



opposing the Centre's decision to deport over 40,000 refugees who came to India after escaping from Myanmar due to widespread discrimination and violence against the community in the Rakhine state.

Various other petitions have also been filed in the apex court on the matter.
