New Delhi, April 27: The Supreme Court on Thursday will hear the WhatsApp privacy policy case after it assured of considering a law of protecting data imprint of individuals on WhatsApp, Facebook and other social media networking sites.
On April 18, the Centre had sought deferment of the hearing on the same.
It is reminded that on January 17, the top court had issued a notice to WhatsApp and Central government on data
privacy.
The apex court had agreed to examine as to whether Facebook's access to details of calls, messages, photographs and documents exchanged by the users of WhatsApp violated the citizens' right to policy.
Earlier, Attorney general Mukul Rahotgi had told a constitution bench of five, led by Justice Deepak Mishra that the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India was in process of evolving the protection framework.
