In Tripura, the School Education Department has issued termination letters to nearly 10 thousand government teachers over irregularities in the recruitment process following the Supreme Court's order.
These teachers have also been issued fresh adhoc appointment letters. The ad hoc appointment will be valid from 1st January to 30th June 2018.School Education Director U. K. Chakma said that around 9400 teachers were issued these letters yesterday itself while others have been appointed as
per the Teacher Eligibility Test.
The Supreme Court in March this year had ordered the state government to dismiss the jobs of 10,323 teachers by 31st December this year over non-compliance of the obligatory qualifications mandated by the Right to Education Act, 2009.
Before this decision, the Tripura High Court in 2014 had Court terminated the services of these teachers after finding irregularities in the recruitment process.
