Visakhapatnam: In a proactive effort to bolster railway infrastructure and enhance safety measures, the Secunderabad and Waltair divisions of South Central Railway have announced significant changes to train schedules. These adjustments are necessitated by the ongoing pre- and non-interlocking works, along with the commissioning of additional lines.
The affected train services include the Visakhapatnam-New Delhi AP Express, New Delhi-Visakhapatnam-AP Express, Visakhapatnam-Gandhidham SF Express, Gandhidham–Visakhapatnam SF Express, Visakhapatnam–H.Nizamuddin Swarnajayanthi SF Express, H.Nizamuddin–Visakhapatnam Swarnajayanthi SF Express, Puri-Okha SF Express, and Okha-Puri SF Express. Commencing from January 1, 2024, and lasting until January 12, 2024, the diversion routes will pass through Vizianagaram, Rayagada, Titlagarh, Raipur, and Nagpur, offering an alternative path for
passengers during this specified period.
Additionally, certain train services are subject to cancellation, including the Visakhapatnam-Koraput Intercity Express on January 01 and January 05, as well as the Koraput-Visakhapatnam Intercity Express on January 02 and January 06.
Short termination and origination of trains will also be implemented, such as the Rourkela-Jagdalpur Express being short terminated at Rayagada from January 01 to January 06. The Jagdalpur-Rourkela Express will be partially cancelled between Jagdalpur and Rayagada from January 02 to January 07. Furthermore, the Howrah-Jagdalpur Samleswari Express will be short terminated at Titlagarh from January 02 to January 06, and the Jagdalpur-Howrah Samleswari Express will be partially cancelled between Jagdalpur and Titlagarh from January 03 to January 07.
