Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra and Railway Minister Piyush Goyal inaugurated the second phase of Monorail in Mumbai yesterday.
After this inauguration the 11.28 kilometre second phase which is extended from Wadala to Jacob Circle, the entire 19.54 kilometre route of the country's first monorail system became operational.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Fadnavis
said, the monorail will no longer remain a joyride and the ridership of the rail will increase to 30 Lakh from the current 4.5 lakh per month.
Railway Minister Piyush Goyal announced to connect all the railway stations through skywalks and subways. He said, Ministry of Railways will give all the required permissions for this project.
