The second phase of odd-even number scheme for cars in Delhi will be implemented from 15th of April this year. Announcing this, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said the scheme would continue for 15 days. It aims at curbing vehicular pollution and traffic congestion in the city.
Quoting the recent survey conducted by the city
government, Mr. Kejriwal said around 81 per cent people in the national capital were in favour of bringing back the Odd-Even scheme. He said women would be exempted in this phase.
The Chief Minister, however, made it clear that the scheme cannot be enforced on permanent basis until public transport system is adequately improved.
