New Delhi: The security agencies have warned of a Pakistani covert agency ISI plot to target Shramik special trains running between Punjab and Uttar Pradesh-Bihar in its bid to disturb law and order. The railway police have been alerted to keep a strict vigil.
The Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) had plotted to target Shramik Special trains that originate from Punjab through bombs with timers. The plot was revealed through inputs that Pakistan-based ISI operatives had offered their contact in Punjab with bombs fitted with timers.
The alert said that the motive behind such a plot would have been to disturb the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar by targeting the
labour force.
The agencies have also advised the local police stations and local administration to establish coordination with the railway police and railway administration to heighten the vigil at railway assets.
The alert further advised the stakeholders to take all preventive, defensive and counter measures to maintain security at the railways premises and prevent any law and order issue by thwarting such nefarious designs of the inimical forces.
Amid the Covid-19 outbreak, the recruitment of cadres for the ISI and its terror affiliates like the Lashkar-e-Tayabba and Jaish-e-Mohammad has been adversely affected.
