Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that self-help groups are playing a very important role in the rural areas of the country especially for small entrepreneurs and for labourers.
Interacting with the members of Self Help Groups, comprising more than 10 million women across the country, through video conferencing this morning, Mr Modi said, these groups form the basis of economic growth for the poor especially the women. He said, the groups are making women socially and economically
strong.
The Prime Minister said, all of these women are example of determination and entrepreneurship. He said, for women empowerment, the most important requirement is to provide them the opportunity to recognize their own powers, abilities and skills.
Mr Modi said, women are working in large numbers in every sector and the country's agricultural sector and dairy sector can not be imagined without the contribution of women.
