Seven pilgrims of Kerala died in Tamil Nadu road Accident

Seven people from Koruthodu in Kottayam district of Kerala died when a minivan they were travelling in collided with a truck near Palani in Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu in the early hours of Wednesday

The deceased have been identified as Sasi, 62, his wife Vijiammal, 60, his grandson Abijith, 14, his neighbours Suresh, 53, his wife Lekha,51, Manu, 27, and Sajini, 52. All of them hailed from Koruthodu near Mundakkayam.

They were going to Lord



Murugan temple in Palani when the accident happened. The mishap happened at Sithalavadampatti. Suresh was driving the minivan.

Four of them died on the spot. Abijith and Vijiammal died on the way to hospital. Sajini and Sasi’s another grandson, Adithyan, 12, were rushed to Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai in a critical condition. Sajini died in hospital.

The Chatrapatti police registered a case against truck driver Ayyappan of Thenkarai.
