Severe heat wave conditions are very likely to continue in North and Central India for the next few days. India Meteorological Department has a consistent red alert issued in the Northern states of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi for the next three to four days. Similar conditions in Vidarbha and Maharashtra is likely to prevail during the next three to four days. Hot and humid weather is expected over Assam during till tomorrow.

that Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some parts of South Arabian Sea, some more parts of Maldives, Comorin area, South Bay of Bengal, some more parts of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Andaman Sea.

On the other hand, Delhiites yesterday got some respite from the intense  heat as no heat wave conditions was observed over Delhi. However, IMD has forecast heatwave in the National Capital today. The minimum and maximum temperatures are likely to hover around 32 and 44 degree Celsius respectively.
