In Telangana, severe heat wave conditions prevailed in several parts of the state with day time temperatures continue to record above 40 degrees Celsius across the state.
The highest maximum temperature recorded at 45 degrees Celsius in Nalgonda during the past 24 hours and Nizamabad recorded 44.9 degrees while Adilabad and Bhadrachalam recorded 44.8 degrees.
Meanwhile, the Met officials warned that severe heat wave conditions likely to prevail over some parts in the state for next five days. The maximum temperatures are marked 4-5 degrees
above normal at almost all places in the state.
Telangana state is reeling under scorching heat coupled with severe water scarcity as the state is facing drought conditions for the third consecutive year this time. The bore wells and hand pumps that were serving the water needs of people have dried up at many places.
Even Hyderabad is facing the dry spell as four major reservoirs that supply drinking water to the capital city went dry for the first time in 30 years facing about 47 per cent deficit in water supply.
