The temperature at Sriganganagar in Rajasthan touched 50 degrees Celsius yesterday as heat wave continues to sweep several parts of the country. Mercury in Churu touched 48.5 degrees. 

The day temperature in Bikaner was 46.6 degrees and 46.5 degrees in Jaisalmer. The MeT department has predicted that the weather patterns will remain the same for the next two-three days. 

Delhiites experienced the hottest



day of the season, with the mercury rising to near 47 degrees Celsius in some areas. The MeT department has issued a red-colour warning for the national capital and said any relief from the scorching heat is unlikely in the next few days. 

Red colour warning indicates extreme weather situations. The department's regional weather office said, the maximum temperature may drop by one or two notches from tomorrow due to wind activity.
