Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) president Nitish Kumar virtually shut the door on any reconciliation with rebel party leader Sharad Yadav, saying he is free to take any decision.
Talking to reporters after his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi, Mr. Kumar said the party has already taken its decision and the alliance with the BJP had the backing of the entire JD(U).
Earlier in the day, Bihar Unit president of JD(U) Bashistha Narain Singh told that the party will take action against Sharad Yadav for anti-party activities. He
said, no one is above the party.
Sharad Yadav has publicly expressed his displeasure over Nitish Kumar’s decision to break alliance with RJD and joining hands with BJP.
Yesterday, he claimed that the real JD(U) is with him. Mr Yadav is on a three-day mass contact programme against breaking of alliance with RJD.
About his meeting with the Prime Minister, the Bihar Chief Minister said he discussed developmental issues with Mr. Modi . Mr. Kumar also met BJP Chief Amit Shah.
