Former JNU student Sharjeel Imam moved the Delhi High Court Monday challenging trial court's order granting more time to the police to conclude investigation in the case related to alleged inflammatory speeches during the protests against CAA and NRC.
The supplication was referenced under the steady gaze of the high court and is probably going to be recorded on May 14.
Imam has tested the preliminary court's April 25 request by which the Delhi Police was conceded further time, past the legal 90 days, to finish the examination for the situation
documented under the severe Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
He has additionally moved toward the high court looking for default bail in the issue on the ground that the examination was not finished up inside the legal time of 90 days. The preliminary court had as of late excused the bail supplication.
Imam was arrested on January 28 in the case related to violent protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act near the Jamia Millia Islamia University in December last year. The statutory period of 90 days from the arrest was concluded on April 27.
