Vijayawada: Y.S. Sharmila will take charge as Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president at the Congress headquarters Andhra Ratna Bhavan here on January 21, Sunday. Former APCC president and CWC invitee Gidugu Rudra Raju here on Friday gave details of Sharmila's two-day visit to AP. On January 20, she will leave for Idupulapaya from Hyderabad at 2 pm and pay tributes to her father Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy at the YSR Ghat at 4 pm.
She will stay in Idupulapaya for the night and the morning fly from Kadapa to Vijayawada
Gannavaram airport. At 11 am, Sharmila will take charge as PCC chief in Vijayawada. Congress leaders and cadres including those from affiliated and frontal organisations of the party would attend the event in large numbers.
Rudra Raju said many leaders would join the Congress party during Sharmila’s taking-charge event. Rudra Raju noted that he worked as APCC president for 14 months. Congress leaders Sunkara Padmasree, Kolanukonda Sivaji and others were present.
