BJP lawmaker Shatrughan Sinha, known for his public critique of his party and the government, on Wednesday attacked Narendra Modi on Twitter again over mob lynchings and the controversy on Rafale fighter aircraft deal with France as he questioned the timing of the Prime Minister’s three-nation tour of Africa.
“Dear Sir! As usual, while Parliament is in session, you are on a 3 Nation African tour. Heavens wouldn’t have fallen if you’d left after the session. You could have still visited some of the nations left on the globe...(sic)” Sinha said in a series of tweets.
The member of Parliament from Patna Sahib brought up the Prime Minister’s gift of 200 cows to a Rwandan village as “great & thoughtful initiative” to attack Modi on the rising incidents of lynchings in the country, the latest in Rajasthan’s Alwar district.
“ ... But Sir! Back home, Opposition is in big news over lynching by Cow rakshaks killing of innocent people, alleging tht some of our people are hand & glove in these horrific deeds. Still, not a word from
you,Sir! You can do it from a foreign land too ... (sic)” he added.
“... Also, humble request to direct us as a privilege motion on Rafale deal against Govt has been moved.Jai Hind!”
The last time Sinha took on Modi on Twitter was on Tuesday when he wrote about the Prime Minister’s response to Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s “splendid” hug in Parliament during the no-confidence motion debate last Friday.
“Hasn’t it been the trademark of our Hon’ble PM to receive all foreign dignitaries with a HUG..so what was so different now?Let’s accept it with love & grace (sic),” he said.
The actor-turned-politician has justified his critical comments on different issues in past, saying it was like showing “mirror” and that he would continue doing so.
Sidelined in the Bharatiya Janata Party, Sinha has been cosying up with opposition parties such as the Rashtriya Janata Dal and Congress and had praised Bihar opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav, calling him a “very mature leader”.
