President of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam has arrived in New Delhi for a five-day state visit to India. Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Jitin Prasada welcomed him at the airport last night.
President Tharman is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Ministers, Members of Parliament and officials. This is his first visit to India as the President of Singapore.
President Tharman will hold discussions with President Droupadi Murmu. She will also host a banquet in Mr Tharman’s honour. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also meet with the President of Singapore.

Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar and several other Indian dignitaries will also call on President Tharman.
President Tharman will also visit Odisha from the 17th to the 18th of this month.
India and Singapore have extensive cooperation based on a long tradition of friendship, trust, and mutual respect. President Tharman’s visit is expected to provide further momentum to bilateral relations between the two nations. The state visit will also mark the beginning of the celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Singapore.
