Popular playback singer and music composer Shankar Mahadevan suffered two heart scares on Tuesday. It is said that the singer was immediately admitted to a hospital in Delhi and is under medical supervision now.
In a statement issued by Shankar's spokesperson, the 48-year-old singer complained of uneasiness in his chest and his doctor advised him to get admitted to a hospital for a couple of days.
"Yes he has been admitted to Delhi hospital, he was feeling uneasy and the doctor advised him for an ECG (electrocardiogram) checkup and then asked him to get hospitalized for a couple of days, but he is perfectly fine, and will be back
in Mumbai soon. We request to respect the privacy," Mahadevan's spokesperson said.
The reports from a popular news website confirmed that the doctors treated Shankar for cardiac arrest in the ICU. It is learnt that Shankar's condition is stable at the moment and he will soon be flying back to Mumbai.
A leading English news daily reported that when contacted, Shankar replied saying, "All is well...am absolutely fine now...Thanks."
Shankar won four national awards for his soulful renditions and he is also one of the most sought after music composers, along with his band members Ehsaan and Loy Mendoza.
