Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) leader Prem Singh Tamang will be sworn-in as Chief Minister of Sikkim today. The swearing-in ceremony will be held at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok at 4 PM. Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Mr. Tamang and his Council of Ministers. Mr Tamang will take oath for the second term.

In light of the swearing-in ceremony, all government and private schools, colleges, and academic institutions within Gangtok

Municipal Corporation area will remain closed today. This decision aims to accommodate the security arrangements and vehicle movement restrictions in the area.

The SKM retained power with overwhelming majority, winning 31 out of 32 seats in the Assembly. The Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) secured just one seat, with its President and former Chief Minister Pawan Chamling being defeated in both the seats he contested.
