BJP leader Smriti Irani has raised questions over the resolution passed in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly for restoration of special status and constitutional guarantees for the Union Territory. Briefing media in New Delhi yesterday, she questioned the leaders of the Indi Alliance saying that they are seen fighting a new war against the Constitution in Jammu and Kashmir.
Ms Irani alleged that the leaders of the INDI Alliance
have dared to undermine the Constitution in Jammu and Kashmir by violating the rights of tribals, Dalits, and women. Questioning Congress, she asked why Congress does not stand against terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. She highlighted that after the abrogation of Article 370, the number of civilian deaths came down by around 80 percent and incidence of violence reduced by around 70 percent in Jammu and Kashmir.
