In Jammu and Kashmir, in a significant initiative aimed at enhancing the spiritual experience of devotees, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) has introduced a Hawan Pooja facility for pilgrims visiting the holy shrine.
The Shrine Board has also announced a special quota for senior citizens and persons with disabilities in the helicopter services to the holy shrine in order to improve accessibility for the devotees. The Hawan Pooja facility will be available daily in four slots from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and can accommodate a maximum of 45 groups per day. The Hawan Pooja will be conducted in a sanctified environment under the guidance of experienced priests, ensuring a deeply spiritual and fulfilling experience for the participating pilgrims.
Devotees interested in availing themselves of this facility can book their slots in advance through the official website of the Shrine Board or at designated counters in Katra. However, the special quota in
helicopter services is aimed at providing a more convenient and comfortable pilgrimage experience for those who may face challenges in undertaking the yatra on foot and will ensure that elderly pilgrims and differently-abled individuals get priority access to helicopter services, allowing them to undertake the journey with ease.
The details regarding the booking process, eligibility criteria, and documentation requirements will be made available on the official website of the Shrine Board. Pilgrims can also seek assistance from the designated help desks in Katra for availing of this facility. The Shrine Board is emphasising making the pilgrimage inclusive and accessible for all devotees regardless of age or physical ability.
The Shrine Board remains committed to enhancing pilgrimage facilities and providing devotees with an enriched spiritual journey at the revered shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi.
