Another encounter broke out between terrorist and security forces at Kota Top in the Gandoh sub-division of the Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. As per the reports, a cop from Special Operations Group (SOG) has been injured.
Notably, this is the fourth encounter in the Union Territory over the past three days and the second one in the Doda region of the Jammu division since yesterday.
As per the officials, the firing was reported from the Kota top area of Bhalesa around 8:20 pm to which security forces retaliated. Constable Fareed Ahmed (973/D) of SOG Gandoh was injured during the operation at Kerloo Bhalessa.

Official sources said that on specific input, a joint team of Police and the Army's 4RR launched a cordon and search operation in the area. As the joint team approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces triggering off a gunfight.
During the initial exchange of fire, one SOG personnel received a bullet wound, he was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. More details are awaited.
