Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka in Shimla on private visit

Congress President Sonia Gandhi and her daughter Priyanka Gandhi are on a private visit here during which they also went to oversee the construction work of the latter's house in Chharabra.

They flew to Chandigarh from Delhi yesterday in a special aircraft and reached here by road and checked in at a hotel in Chharabra, 15 km from here, from where the duo went to the site and remained there for about two



hours.

The NSG had cordoned off the entire area in the vicinity of the villa which is close to the summer residence of the President, the Retreat, in a high security zone from where the media was barred.

The architect, contractor and president of District Congress Committee (Shimla Rural), Kehar Singh Khachi were also with them.

Sonia and Priyanka will stay here till June 14 and leave for Delhi on June 15.
